BuzzieWorld Word Family Flashcards give parents and teachers a starting point for exploring English word patterns with early readers. Work through selected groups together, compare words, and invite children to notice how a small change can create a different word.
Ask your child which part of a word looks familiar. Read together, discuss the sounds, and allow time for another attempt when needed. Keep the experience encouraging and focused on discovery.
When your child encounters an unfamiliar word, explain it and use it in a sentence. Then invite them to suggest a sentence of their own. This adds context to the words they are practising.
Choose one or two word families for a session. Revisit familiar groups before introducing new ones, and adjust the pace to your child’s readiness.
