Choose an animal, explore the activity together and invite your child to share what they already know. Let their curiosity guide the conversation. You might spend a session exploring one animal or revisit several familiar favorites.
Matching gives children a reason to pause and observe.
Ask, “What made you choose that?” or “Can you tell me about this animal?” For younger learners, begin by naming and pointing together. As they become more familiar with the material, invite them to explain the connections in their own words.
Keep the conversation going beyond the activity.
Talk about its home or the name of its young, then return to the binder to explore further. These small conversations give familiar learning a new setting.
